The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days or unpaid days off for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. If you receive an offer for this position your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Location & Schedule

In this position you can expect to work at (5440 Roslyn St. Denver CO 80216) or Central Platte (1271 W. Bayaud Ave. Denver CO 80223).

Shifts are typically Mon day -Fri day 5 : 30-2 : 00pm 8 : 00-4 : 30 pm or 2 : 30-11 : 00 pm however flexibility is as hours and location can change based on business need.

There is a 7% shift differential added for shifts that start after 11 : 00 AM.

If staffing challenges occur weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs this position will be to work extended hours and / or alternative shifts (includes nights weekends and holidays) . This includes mandatory overtime.

Participates in mandatory snow removal duties

The DOTI Logistics Operations (DLO) team is seeking a customer-focused to play a critical role in managing automotive and heavy equipment parts. Specifically as a Fleet Parts Specialist II you will :

Act as the primary point of contact for fleet tech nicians safety technicians or DOTI field operations providing prompt and professional assistance for parts PPE supplies requests and inquiries. Deliver clear and consistent communication to customers regarding parts availability ETAs and reason for delay .

Prioritize a customer-first approach when researching and ordering parts to ensure fleet operations run smoothly. Maintain a professional helpful and solution-oriented attitude to ensure a positive experience for our customers and and organize the parts room to create a welcoming efficient space for team members as well as promoting a safe and healthy workplace.

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors customers and team members to ensure effective parts procurement and issue resolution.

Research and fulfill open parts requests promptly ensuring action comments are accurate and up to date . Run and update reports for late or unreceived parts following up with vendors to keep customers and verify deliveries from vendors . Complete perpetual inventory counts as parts are issued as well as assist in the completion of a yearly inventory.

Process parts PPE or supply requests on a first-in first-out basis including any pending from previous shifts to minimize downtime for fleet operations. Provide a detailed end-of-shift email turnover ensuring smooth communication with the location team and supervisor.

Reconcile purchasing card (P-Card) transactions a ddress and resolve monthly corrections as assigned by the supervisor and

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience skills and characteristics :

Proven experience in automotive or heavy equipment parts distribution or installation.

Ability and adaptability to meet customer needs with professionalism and urgency.

Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g. AssetWorks ) or similar tools.

Ability to utilize multiple systems to complete tasks reports and look up information. (MS Office Outlook Adobe web based and paper or PDF catalogs)

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Self-starter with a commitment to teamwork and excellence but ability to work with limited supervision.

Operate forklifts pallet jacks carts and dollies for stock movement while ensuring safe practices.

Utilize asset management systems and other software tools to maintain inventory and support customers effectively.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement : Graduation from high school or possession of a GED HiSET or TASC Certificate

Experience Requirement : Three (3) years of experience in an automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair setting including parts identification receiving stocking issuing and maintaining inventory records of automotive and heavy-duty equipment parts and supplies. A working knowledge of automotive heavy duty and other mechanical equipment is

Education and Experience Equivalency : Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements

License / Certification Requirement : This job requires driving. Requires a valid Drivers License at the time of application
