Construction Manager
Reporting to the Vice President of Project Management, the Construction Manager is responsible to oversee and support construction activities for the implementation of various distributed energy resource projects including combined heat & power (CHP), fuel cells, battery energy storage, solar & geothermal technologies for our customers. Endurant Energy seeks to expand the project execution team through the addition of talented, driven individuals. Our core team is composed of independent thinkers who effectively collaborate to develop viable solutions to today’s energy challenges. Endurant Energy’s project execution team leverages the interdisciplinary backgrounds and experiences within the team to develop holistic, sustainable projects.
The role will be primarily focused at customer project sites in the New York City area, including potential expansion into NJ and CT. Candidate should reside in NYC general area.
Responsibilities will include :
- Oversee various aspects of construction projects from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with project design, customer requirements, and applicable codes and safety regulations.
- Monitor construction progress and assist in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and supplier to the construction schedule.
- Manage quality control of all construction activities; coordinate and schedule quality control activities with contractors and suppliers.
- Expedite and inspect materials; prepare material inspection reports upon delivery; manage any nonconformances observed.
- Coordinate and resolve RFIs (Requests for Information) between contractors, suppliers, and customers.
- Participate in regular project meetings, providing insights or updates on-site conditions, progress, and challenges.
- Assist in coordinating commissioning activities and perform job close-out procedures.
- Maintain effective relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and maintain weekly status reports, with data and photos as required.
- Create and maintain project status and progress documentation.
- Ensure compliance with the site HSSE plan, including safety briefings, toolbox talks, and JHAs (Job Hazard Analyses) being documented, reviewed, and gathered.
Required Hard Skills :
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle for travel to project sitesThis position requires candidate to be in the field full-time, with no office-based workMin 5 years of experience in on-site construction managementAssociate or bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in construction managementFamiliarity with energy or utility related construction preferably with distributed energy resource technologies, including combined heat & power, fuel cells, energy storage, and microgridsProven experience effectively managing various aspects of construction, including managing scope, budget, schedule, and permittingDesired Soft Skills :
Proactive problem-solving approach with an eye towards safety and risk management / mitigationComfortable in client-facing situationsAbility to work in small teams within a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently and in a team environmentProficiency with MS Office Suite and MS ProjectLocation : New York City
Salary Range : $90,000 - $130,000 / annually
