Job Description

Step into a day on our production floor

You power up an Amada turret punch, pull down the right program, and build your setup from a clean slate—selecting punches, dies, and forming tools, aligning the turret, verifying offsets, and running a first-article check. With calipers in hand, you measure critical features, compare them to the blueprint, and tweak the pattern for speed and accuracy. A misfeed pops up—you diagnose the cause, swap worn tooling, and keep parts moving without sacrificing quality. Throughout the day, you collaborate with engineering on design intent, sync with fabrication and supervisors on schedules, and keep meticulous records so throughput stays steady and safe.

What you'll do

  • Independently set up, program, and operate CNC turret punch equipment to produce precise sheet metal components.
  • Load / recall programs, choose correct tooling, align and verify setups, and optimize punch patterns for accuracy and cycle time.
  • Perform in-process inspections with precision instruments (including calipers) to confirm parts meet drawing specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings and translate them into efficient turret operations and nest strategies.
  • Monitor tool wear, address misfeeds, and correct material-related issues to protect quality and machine performance.
  • Document production and inspection data to support traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, and leadership to hit production targets while working independently.
  • Plan workflow to maintain consistent output, efficiency, and safety.

What you'll bring

  • At least 5 years of hands-on CNC turret punch experience.
  • Advanced blueprint / drawing reading skills.
  • Material fluency : galvanized steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Use of precision measurement tools, especially calipers.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting ability.
  • Solid math foundation, including geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to estimate timelines and manage schedules effectively.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfortably stand for long periods, walk, squat, bend, and twist.
  • Comfort working in environments that can be extremely hot or cold.
  • Nice to have

  • Experience editing G-code at the control.
  • CAM / CAD familiarity.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Project management exposure.
  • Proficiencies we value

  • Equipment and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification.
  • Material handling background, including heavy material movement.
  • Setup experience for production runs.
  • Blueprint reading expertise.
  • Knowledge of large-format graphics workflows.
  • Equipment you'll run

  • Amada EM3612ZRT 33-ton Turret Punch with high-capacity tool rack and automatic tool changer.
  • Amada EML 2515 Aje Turret Punch / Laser combination system.
  • Machines and technologies on the floor

  • Punch Press (Amada, Murata)
  • Press Brake (Amada, Murata)
  • Stamping Press
  • Laser Punch Press (Amada)
  • Turret Press
