As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) , you will provide direct rehabilitation care to patients referred by physicians, all while adhering to the highest standards of care and compliance. What You Need to Succeed
- Education : Graduate of an accredited speech therapy program (minimum MS or MA SLP).
- Certification : ASHA certified (CCCs) or eligible for a 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) to earn ASHA certification.
- Licensure : Currently registered / licensed in your state, with an active license in good standing throughout your employment.
- Experience : One year of experience in post-acute care or a related setting is preferred.
- CPR Certification : Must be obtained upon hire or during orientation and remain current throughout employment.
Your Role in Our Community
Engage in community health projects as appropriate.Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to ensure comprehensive care.Exhibit excellent body mechanics and independent decision-making skills.Stay informed about laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care.Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, and policies.Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality at all times.Adhere to company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.Uphold integrity and professionalism by following Life Care’s Code of Conduct .Key Responsibilities
Establish, assess, and modify realistic and measurable therapy goals.(SLP CCC only) Oversee and evaluate care provided by SLP CFYs.(SLP CFY only) Follow treatment plans under the supervision of an SLP CCC.Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner.Utilize therapy software effectively.Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive attitude.Assist in patient evacuations when necessary.Demonstrate dependable attendance and strong reasoning skills.Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.Engage in physical activities such as lifting, bending, and walking as required.Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.Join us in making a meaningful impact!
