- ALS level of care required to titrate drips
- Intubation experience preferred
Description :
The Paramedic provides professional and compassionate care to a variety of patients in pre-hospital and hospital settings.
Patient populations include children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
The Paramedic performs and documents assessments and treatments.
Individualized patient care is essential to ensure interventions are made appropriately.
Needs may include supervising the transfer of patients to different facilities or levels of care.
Direct patient care is provided, along with medication administration using the five patient rights.
Significant changes or high-risk situations are identified and communicated effectively.
Documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Knowledge and proper use of equipment encountered in ambulance or hospital settings is demonstrated.
Patient status is communicated during transfer of care.
Workload is adjusted as needed, and staffing needs are communicated to supervisors.
The safety of EMTs, staff, and bystanders is ensured.
Coordination of patient care with ancillary departments involved in direct or indirect patient care is required.
Treatment follows established guidelines set by authorities.
Common diagnoses treated include trauma, chest pain, respiratory distress, falls, and abdominal pain.
Experience with titratable drips such as nitroglycerin, heparin, IV fluids, and vasopressors is necessary.
Equipment required includes CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators.
Self-scheduling is not offered; scheduling may change with advance notice.
Weekend and holiday requirements are part of the rotation.
There is a call or standby requirement as stated in the scheduling details.
This position is specific to 911 service with interfacility transfers.
Paramedics will intercept with volunteer squads en route for advanced life support care as needed.
The cancellation policy allows for a specific number of shifts to be canceled per assignment duration.
The charting system utilized is Point Click Care.
