Overview

BevBoost is the latest innovation from Matt Cutter, founder of Upslope Brewing Company. BevBoost uses breakthrough dual-chamber infusion technology to deliver hop extract at the moment of consumption, amplifying flavor and aroma and counteracting oxidation.

Role Overview

BevBoost is seeking a seasoned Technical Writer to create high-quality, user-centric documentation for a machine that manufactures and integrates advanced “widget” devices. The Technical Writer will translate complex engineering and fluidics / pressurization mechanics into intuitive guides, reference docs, and training material. This person ensures operators, engineers, service technicians, and stakeholders understand how to use, maintain, and troubleshoot the system reliably and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Author and maintain end-user documentation for the widget machine including safety, compliance, and regulatory instructions.
  • Provide integration guides (e.g., how to incorporate the widget into a canning / production line).
  • Design quick-start guides, visual aids, flow diagrams, process schematics, and operator decision trees.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts (mechanical, control systems, fluidics, packaging, quality) to extract detailed technical information.
  • Translate scientific, mechanical, and process-level details (e.g. dual-chamber pressure mechanisms, trigger release on pressure change) into user-friendly content.
  • Validate documentation through internal reviews, pilot equipment runs, lab tests, and field validation.
  • Version control and maintain documentation as the machine / widget design evolves.
  • Define and enforce documentation style guidelines, templates, and standards.
  • Support localization / translation of documentation (if needed).
  • Provide content support for training, eLearning, instructor guides, and onboarding materials.
  • Continually evaluate and improve documentation tools, workflows, usability, and feedback.

Qualifications

  • Technical writing experience, ideally in advanced manufacturing, packaging equipment, automation, or similar domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and document complex mechanical, pneumatic, or fluidic systems.
  • Proven track record creating a variety of document types : user manuals, service manuals, quick reference sheets, training modules.
  • Experience working with SMEs in engineering, QA, process, product, and operations teams.
  • Experience identifying, implementing, and managing content management systems (CMS) to support scalable documentation workflows.
  • Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g. MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Oxygen XML, or equivalent).
  • Competence in creating or coordinating diagrams, schematics, flowcharts (using Visio, Illustrator, or similar).
  • Experience with version control and documentation lifecycles (Git, SVN, or other).
  • Strong written and verbal communication with attention to clarity, structure, and usability.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple documentation streams and adhere to deadlines.
  • Analytical / problem-solving mindset; ability to anticipate user errors, edge cases, and failure modes.

    • Location and schedule

    This role will require onsite work at the BevBoost R&D facility 3-4 days / week until documentation is completed.

    Compensation

    Equal Pay for Equal Work Act : The compensation for this role is $60 / hour.
