Systems Engineer II

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer II to analyze functional business requirements and design specifications for mission critical defense applications . This role supports DoD contracts by identifying and resolving system design challenges , enhancing existing systems, and leading new IT infrastructure developments. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams, ensuring optimal system performance and compliance with DoD security and operational guidelines .

Key Responsibilities :

• Analyze business requirements and design specifications to develop secure and efficient IT systems.
• Identify and resolve issues within existing system architectures , implementing enhancements where necessary.
• Participate in the analysis, design, and implementation of next-generation IT systems for defense applications.
• Evaluate commercially available IT solutions (COTS) and ensure seamless integration into DoD infrastructure.
• Translate customer needs into technical requirements , ensuring feasibility for engineering teams.
• Work closely with programmers, software engineers, and systems architects to maintain system integrity.
• Provide expertise in telecommunications, programming languages, operating systems, database management, and middleware .
• Ensure systems comply with DoD security protocols, risk management frameworks (RMF), and cybersecurity best practices .

Required Qualifications :

Active Secret Clearance : TS preferred.

Education :

Experience :

3 years of experience with a bachelor's degree OR

1 year of experience with a master's degree or higher .

Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, IT infrastructure, and secure software development .

Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance .

Expertise in network systems, cybersecurity frameworks, and system integration methodologies .
