Job description

LocumJobsOnline is working with Lancesoft Inc to find a qualified Orthopedic Surgery PA in Coos Bay, Oregon, 97420!

Pay Information

$110 to $120 per hour

About The Position

  • Position Description
  • In collaboration with the attending physician, the PA / NP :
  • Prepares and records patient history
  • Develops and implements a plan of care
  • Participates in daily rounds on assigned patients and documents pertinent symptoms, findings, diagnoses, and care plans
  • Utilizes electronic medical records (EPIC) for order entry and documentation
  • Participates in multidisciplinary rounding, responds to coding and documentation queries, and engages in quality and safety initiatives
  • Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Orders or performs diagnostic studies, including EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, X-rays, CT, MRI, and bone scans
  • Performs procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgical procedures (tendon repair, wound closure, wound management, debridement, incision & drainage, needle biopsy, percutaneous pinning, K-wire and hardware removal)
  • Conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures / dislocations, injections of joints / tendons / trigger points / bursa, and brace, cast, and splint applications
  • Assists in surgery as first assist, performs deep and superficial tissue closures, applies appliances, and completes other delegated actions by the surgeon
  • Conducts hospital rounds, writes orders, and assists the orthopedic surgeon
  • Serves as primary orthopedic call for Bay Area Hospital’s patients in the ED and inpatient units, including weekday, weekend, holiday, and 24-hour coverage
  • Evaluates clinical conditions, formulates treatment plans, and dictates discharge summaries, histories, and physicals
  • Skills and Abilities :
  • Proficiency with electronic health records for documentation, assessment, and care management while providing patient care
  • Ability to work independently and perform effectively in stressful and / or emergent situations
  • Excellent clinical judgment, problem-solving, and critical thinking

  • Meets criteria for Medical Staff or Allied Health Professional membership and privileges
  • NPDB Self-query – Required at submission
  • CAQH login and password – Required at time of offer
  • Start Date : ASAP – Required
  • EPIC training : 4 hours unpaid (testing out option : 2 hours)
  • OT after 40 hours
  • Work Week : Sunday – Saturday
  • Lodging will be provided / coordinated by Bay Area Hospital
  • Credentialing timeframe : minimum 60 days
