Job description

Talascend is currently seeking a Communications Specialist for a contract opportunity located in Charlotte, NC.

Full time, onsite. 8 : 00-5 : 00, Monday through Friday.

OVERVIEW :

As a Communications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage and inspire our employees. You will collaborate with various departments to create compelling content, manage internal communications and ensure consistent messaging across all channels. Your creativity, strategic thinking and excellent communication skills will be instrumental in driving our communication efforts and supporting our business objectives.

You will formally report directly to our Senior Director Internal Communications, and you'll work out of our Charlotte, North Carolina, location on a full-time work schedule.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Developing and implementing communication strategies to support our Energy Solutions and Sustainability internal communications team.
  • Supporting internal newsletter development, as needed.
  • Creation of engaging content for various channels, including our intranet, email, Viva Engage, and live and virtual meetings, among others.
  • Creating interesting and dynamic mass emails, including leveraging our mass email tool, Poppulo.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
  • Monitoring and analyzing communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of our strategies.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Storytelling ability and writing skills, with ability to quickly develop clear, concise messages.
  • Excellent editing skills. A willingness to be hands-on with writing and editing to get content produced efficiently and on deadline.
  • Experience in corporate communications or internal communications.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Intimate understanding of how best to leverage channels such as Viva Engage to promote employee engagement.
  • The ability to handle pressures and demands from multiple clients and competing priorities.
