Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a hospital Float Pool position serving multiple specialties, requiring a minimum of 3 years' experience in ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health.
Responsibilities
Float Pool position within the Nursing Resource Team covering ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health unitsProvides care for diverse patient populations, including adult and youth acute behavioral health and addiction recoveryWorks hospital-wide with a bed count ranging from 21-35 depending on assigned unitNurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit : ICU 1 : 1-2; Med / Surg & ED boarded Med / Surg 1 : 5-6; PCU 1 : 3-4; Behavioral Health 1 : 5-6 days / 1 : 10 overnights12-hour shifts from 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, with every other weekend requiredWill receive unit assignment 2 hours prior to each shift and may be required to float mid-shift as neededUses equipment including KBH / YA Restraint board and patient lifts, with training provided during onboardingDress code is navy blue scrubsResponsible for providing adaptable, compassionate nursing care in multiple units and patient populationsMust demonstrate strong time management skills and flexibility while working with various teamsAll unit- and equipment-specific training, including restraint and behavioral health techniques, will be provided during orientation50-mile radius restriction for eligible candidates; local candidates not acceptedConsistent schedule provided, but units may change with each shift based on hospital needsMust wear navy blue scrubs as required by the hospital dress codeRequirements
Active ID or compact RN licenseGraduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; BSN highly preferredMinimum of 3 years' recent clinical experience in ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery)Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation requiredCurrent BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certificationsCompletion of Restraint C, MOAB 8-hour class, and Boundaries 1-hour module during onboardingDepartment of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting required due to Behavioral Health coverageBenefits
