Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients with diagnoses including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other hematologic disorders.
- Manage complex procedures such as autologous, allogeneic, and syngeneic transplants, along with CAR-T therapy.
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond effectively to patient needs using Rapid Response Teams.
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and manage central and peripheral lines with precision.
- Support patient comfort through feeding tube care, oxygen management, and other supportive therapies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a blended acuity PCU and MS unit setting.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience in Medical-Surgical and Oncology nursing.
- Proven proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and central line management.
- Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to execute complex procedures such as blood product administration and PICC line care confidently.
- BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS and Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification are highly preferred.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with pediatric or adult stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapies.
- Additional certifications in advanced cardiac life support or specialized oncology nursing.
- Familiarity with hem-onc-specific equipment and symptom management protocols.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- At least 1 year of recent oncology/RN experience, specifically in hematology/oncology units.
- Certification in chemotherapy or relevant oncology credentials is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS and ONS Chemotherapy Certification preferred.
- Availability to work 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with rotating days as per staffing needs.
- Flexibility to adapt to scheduled rotations every 4 weeks, with shifts reviewed based on departmental requirements.
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and adhere to hospital protocols.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $59.18
