As an Inclusion Aide, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for students with special needs, ensuring they feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to fully participate in our before and after-school programs. You will provide direct, one-on-one or small-group support, adapting activities and engagement strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.

What a typical day for an Inclusion Aide is like :

  • Encourage and facilitate student participation in program activities, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Implement strategies to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
  • Assist students with academic work, including homework help and enrichment activities.
  • Follow attendance procedures, ensuring accurate sign-in and sign-out records.
  • Collaborate with site staff and leadership to adapt activities to meet students' needs.
  • Demonstrate leadership and a commitment to empowering youth.
  • Maintain professionalism, patience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Background in special education, child development, or youth programs highly preferred.
  • Experience working with children or youth in grades K-12, especially those with special needs.
  • Familiarity with inclusive programming and behavioral support strategies is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to supervise and engage students in a group setting.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in youth education.
  • Ability to communicate well with both kids and parents.
  • College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units completed OR ability to pass an academic proficiency exam.
  • TB test with negative result and Live Scan background check.
  • Spanish-English bilingual skills are a plus.

    • If the school you will be working at requires a Covid-19 vaccination, you must provide documentation showing you are fully vaccinated.

    The Inclusion Aide position is part-time, non-exempt. This position reports to the Site Coordinator of the school site.

    Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning Shift (Optional) : 6am-8am
  • Afternoon Shift : 2pm-6pm (one day of the week is a minimum day which is around 12pm-6pm depending on the school)

    • Ability To Commute / Relocate

  • Reliably commute before starting work (Required)
