Job Purpose
JVM Solutions is hiring Medical Records Clerks to support Processing Center in El Paso, TX.
Duties and Responsibilities
- File medical documentation and ensure data filed are properly identified. Return loose medical documents to various medical clinics as necessary. Sort and file laboratory slips, consultation reports, physical exams, forms and other materials. Review records for proper sequences of documents, file loose documents, correct misfiles, ensure all documents are together by name and social security number when records are pulled for treatment or administrative purposes.
- Cross-reference indices and compile statistics on requested information pertaining to medical care provided for use in various reports. Assist with record dispositions by copying medical records and forwarding original to various organizations after final approval. Ensure a copy of records is maintained at the clinic.
- Prior to disposition of the record, review entire record for proper sequence of documents and check for duplication of records to ensure the same information has not been sent previously.
- Apply the appropriate guidelines concerning the release of patient medical information. Prepare charge-out record on all files removed showing appropriate office, physician, or clinic to which the file is being charged.
- Comply with all productivity standards and maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services; all health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations.
Qualifications
High school equivalent and a minimum of one year of college or vocational training.Minimum of one year of experience within the last three years working as a full-time medical records clerk in a hospital, clinic, or doctor's office.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, maintained in a current status.Other Requirements
