This position reports to :

End User Area Sales Manager

In this role as Quotations Specialist, you will have the opportunity to support the Sales organization and customers throughout the sales process by adapting ABB's products with customer applications to meet their requirements / specifications. Each day, you will select optimized products and technology for adaptation, prepare relevant documentation, and serve as a key technical resource for the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying and cultivating new business opportunities by proactively prospecting, networking.

This role is open to remote candidates located in California or Arizona (preferably those within distance to support Southern California market) and the ability for some light business travel (10%).

You will be mainly accountable for :

  • Developing cost-effective, accurate proposals from drawings and specifications; provide value-engineering options and complete submittal packages that set ABB apart. These will need to be also have timely delivery within established schedules and (if needed) communicate implications of missed engineering deadlines.
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies between job designs, quotes, and material requirements; perform root-cause analyses to improve material profitability.
  • Assisting in planning and executing sales strategies to maximize market share, margin, and customer satisfaction.
  • Creation and management of Special Price Agreements (SPAs) for strategic partners and end users.

Qualifications for the role :

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; OR high school diploma / GED with 10+ years of sales experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in the electrical industry.
  • Strong customer focus with ability to respond quickly to client needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with electrical contractors, distributors, and channel partners preferred.
  • Strong technical, take-off, and proposal development skills.
  • Proficiency with analytical software, sales tools, and CRM systems preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization to be employed by ABB.

    While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $98,700 and $183,300 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan / annual bonus.
