Banquet Manager – Full Time

St. Clair Country Club is a premier, private country club searching for an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Banquet Manager to join our team!

Located eight miles from downtown Pittsburgh, in the heart of the South Hills, our Team is committed to providing expectations of excellence in the highest quality dining, social, entertainment and recreational experiences to its 850 members and their families and guests.

St. Clair Country Club is open year-round and offers multiple private dining and reception areas including a Ballroom that seats up to 240 people.

Position Summary :

The Banquet Manager oversees the successful planning, coordination, and execution of all Club and private events — including weddings, tournaments, meetings, and private functions. This role leads and develops banquet staff while ensuring an exceptional dining and event experience for our members and guests through exceptional service, presentation, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, schedule, and manage banquet service staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Event Coordinator, Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, and Housekeeping to coordinate all event details, including menus, décor, linens, floral arrangements, entertainment, and service logistics.
  • Create, distribute, and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and the event calendar to ensure accurate and timely communication across departments.
  • Maintain a visible presence during events, serving as the primary point of contact to ensure flawless execution, anticipation of member needs, and immediate resolution of any issues.
  • Oversee event setup and confirm that all banquet spaces are set to standard prior to guest arrival.
  • Enforce company policies and service standards, ensuring compliance with all safety and health regulations.
  • Conduct pre-function meetings with staff to review event details, assign responsibilities, and confirm service timing.
  • Ensure banquet staff maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of banquet service equipment and supplies.
  • Perform the duties of Head Waiter or Banquet Staff as needed, greeting and engaging with members and guests.
  • Serve as Closing Manager or Manager on Duty when assigned.
  • Verify accurate billing for all banquet and event charges.
  • Assist with general banquet budgeting.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and service-focused team culture.
  • Build strong relationships with members to anticipate and exceed expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Requirements :

    Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in banquet or event management, preferably in a hospitality, country club, hotel, or upscale event environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration and member relations.
  • Ability to handle multiple events simultaneously and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to delivering expectations of excellence.
  • Proficiency in event management software and POS systems.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required .
  • Physical capability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
