Shipping Specialist
As a Shipping Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our stockroom and shipping operations. You will be responsible for managing inventory databases, ensuring timely material handling, and coordinating shipments in compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain stockroom inventory database and records. Keep stockroom clean, organized, and ensure parts are clearly identified. Fulfill material issue requests promptly by accurately entering data in the inventory database and delivering materials to the designated location. Maintain an inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Receive shipments by verifying information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify issues. Route items to the appropriate receiver of goods or place them correctly in the designated stockroom location. Assemble shipping containers or boxes and carefully pack items. Measure, weigh, and count items for outgoing shipments. Prepare packing lists and shipping labels, ensuring correct documentation accompanies outbound shipments. Determine appropriate shipping methods and manage all related logistics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in system hardware, manufacturability, inventory, stocking, material handling, packing, picking, sorting, shipping, receiving, and warehouse management. Project management skills. Acceptance testing and supplier management experience. Manufacturing knowledge.

Work Environment
The role is based in an engineering and production environment located in Columbia, MD. While some remote work is possible, the majority of responsibilities require onsite presence during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
