The Public Works Department is seeking an experienced Property Maintenance Supervisor for the Property Maintenance Division to perform skilled work involving the Town's Property Maintenance programs – Natural and Synthetic Turf maintenance, herbicide applications, fertilizer applications, irrigation repairs, playgrounds, tournament preparation, and landscaping located at the new Yeargan Park. This position works under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent, often independently while exercising best judgment in the field.

Examples of Duties :

This position works under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent.

• Installs and monitors landscape beds located within the Yeargan Park property.
• Plans, directs, coordinates, and participates in the work crews at the site in athletic and landscape maintenance.
• Ensure that the proper equipment and supplies are available.
• Maintains adequate and accurate logs of herbicides and pesticides used to maintain areas.
• Ability to schedule staff and prioritize maintenance based on the scheduling of tournaments and be able to adapt to changing situations.
• Ensures irrigation systems are operating correctly and repairs any issues found.
• Creates an aerification program to turf related areas.
• Ensures fertilization program is applied on turf associated with this position.
• Thorough knowledge with sports field preparation, layout, and execution with precision to detail.
• Performs related tasks as required in support of the Public Works Department.

Environment : Work is performed primarily in an outdoor field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work in or around water; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions; work and / or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain; work at heights, in confined spaces, and below ground level; incumbents may be required to respond to emergency and public calls after hours including evenings and weekends.

Physical : Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to climb unusual heights and descend on ladders; to lift, carry, push, and / or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision : See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing : Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
