This is not a helpdesk job and not a senior management role - it's a hands-on role for someone with 2–5 years of experience who is ready to step beyond support work and drive meaningful technology improvements. You'll be the technology champion for the company, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver innovations that make work simpler, more efficient, and smarter.

  • Collaborate with leadership, staff, and vendors to ensure adoption and success.
  • Explore and introduce practical uses of AI to boost efficiency and creativity.
  • Make technology approachable and easy to use for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Innovation & Problem Solving
  • Bring creative, outside-the-box ideas to overcome challenges.

  • Focus on solutions that work for people with varying levels of technical comfort.
  • Work with end users to understand pain points and deliver improvements.
  • Ownership & Incremental Improvement of Existing Systems
  • Take responsibility for HECO's current technology platforms.
  • Make small, incremental improvements that build momentum while long-term solutions are explored.
  • Identify underutilized features in current systems and train staff to use them effectively.
  • Build relationships with system vendors to ensure HECO gets the most out of contracts and support.
  • Collaboration & Change Leadership
  • Partner with leadership, staff, and vendors to move initiatives forward.
  • Communicate changes in clear, relatable terms and lead adoption efforts.
  • Build trust by being approachable, patient, and supportive during change.
  • Smart & Selective AI Use
  • Balance enthusiasm with practicality - ensuring AI helps, not overwhelms.

  • Educate others on practical, accessible uses of AI.
  • Simplicity & Accessibility
  • Make technology approachable through clear communication and rollout plans.
  • Translate complex systems into simple, easy-to-understand steps.
  • Reframe improvements in terms of tangible everyday impact for employees.
  • Qualifications

    Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred - but equivalent experience considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in IT, business systems, or project coordination.
  • Previous help desk or technical support background a plus - especially if you're eager to grow into a more innovative, project-driven role.
