General Laborer - Commercial Construction

LOD Staffing has openings for Construction Laborer.

Location : San Antonio / Surrounding Areas | FLSA : Non-Exempt

Grade / Level : N / A Travel Required : None

Work Schedule : Work Hours will Vary, must be open to early mornings, and / or weekends

Rate of Pay : Pay will vary depending on assignment

The General Construction Laborer is responsible for supporting construction projects and assisting specialized workers such as electricians, painters, and heavy equipment operators to ensure the construction project is completed on time. The position of Laborer will perform manual labor duties related to the building of the project

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• May operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
• Unload, carry, place, and secure with tie wire concrete reinforcing steel and accessories.      Manually excavates and fills trenches and ditches.
• Handles and stores materials.
• Placement and finishing of concrete utilizing hand and power tools including troweling machines.
• Preparations for concrete pour including installing embedded items and cleaning.
• Concrete patching, repairing, and rubbing.
• Construct built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms, according to specs, for molding concrete structures.
• Assist in demolishing activities.
• Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers.
• Operate electric powered tools.
• Signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance.
• Tie rebar.
• Follow safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
