Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities :
Assist Residents with daily living activities, to include, delivering meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing plenty of fluids and nourishment meals throughout scheduled shift
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming
Help Residents with personal hygiene
Observe Residents and report any health issues to the supervising nurse
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
Provide basic life support as needed and respond promptly to patient emergencies.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols
Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and documentation using electronic health record systems such as SigmaCare
Document Resident food and fluid intake
Assist Residents with feeding and serving nutritional supplements
Making the Resident's beds and keeping their living areas clean and tidy
Transport Residents within the facility
Assist nurses and other staff as needed
Adhere to professional standards and follow all facility policies and procedures
Abide by all federal, state and local requirements and standards
Maintain the confidentiality of all Residents and Facility data
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
Participate in training sessions and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Qualifications and Skills :
Current and Valid NY CNA certification
Experience in caregiving or patient care settings is highly desirable
Familiarity with electronic health record systems SigmaCare is a plus
Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary
Excellent interpersonal skills
Effective communication skills
Good collaboration and teamwork skills
Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities
Keen attention to detail
In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations
Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions
Excellent observational skills for monitoring patient conditions and reporting changes to nursing staff
Physical strength and stamina
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
