These positions are open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

The City of Chicago's Department of Water Management is seeking a Clerk IV Timekeeper to perform the full range of payroll and timekeeping duties and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Additional duties may be required for this position
Location : 1000 East Ohio Street
Days : Monday through Friday
Hours : 8 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m.

Qualifications
Two years of timekeeping, payroll or clerical work experience
Should the above criteria not be fulfilled, the following options are acceptable :
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree or higher, plus one (1) year of timekeeping, payroll, or clerical work experience
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to successfully pass a written test / skills assessment and complete an interview. Test results will be sent out by the Department of Human Resources after test results have been analyzed and compiled. The interviewed candidate(s) receiving a passing score on the test and possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following :
Previous work duty experience with timekeeping and payroll preparation for 50 or more employees.
Previous work experience in a position resolving issues pertaining to employees' time and pay.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.

Department of Human Resource staff will review applications after the final posting date. Staff will follow any and all required Employment / Hiring Plan provisions, federal, state and local laws, and Collective Bargaining Agreements when applicable.
