The Junior Data Engineer is responsible for performing data analysis on ERP systems, financial systems, and custom-developed applications. The role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, supporting BI reporting, and enabling business users with actionable insights through Power BI and related Microsoft tools.
Responsibilities
- Perform data analysis on ERP systems (including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse).
- Perform data analysis on financial systems and custom-developed applications.
- Develop Power BI and Microsoft Fabric reports for financial analysis and management reporting.
- Create SQL-based queries and integrate with Data Factory pipelines to facilitate data analysis and automation.
- Support and maintain data models to enhance BI reporting within Fabric's Lakehouse and Warehouse environments.
- Engage with business users to identify requirements and translate them into reporting and data solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve BI and data integration issues across Power BI, Fabric, and Data Factory.
- Collaborate with business users to address ad-hoc data analysis requests.
- Prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
- Analyze the impact of report and data requests and determine appropriate strategies for delivery.
- Escalate high-priority or production-critical issues to appropriate support staff.
- Make recommendations for process improvements, automation, and data governance best practices.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Information Systems / MIS, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).Hands-on experience with Power BI (including Power BI Service and Fabric integration).Strong SQL skills.Exposure to Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Pipelines).Exposure to Azure Data Factory or similar ETL / ELT tools.1-2 years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Engineering.Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse.Experience or coursework in data integration, orchestration, or Fabric-based workflows.Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics.Familiarity with PowerApps and Power Pages (formerly PowerPortal).Recommended Certifications (or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months) :
