Qualifications include : High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, welding and safety procedures, road construction and concrete. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; effectively and appropriately communicate; understand and comply with laws, regulations, policy and directives; and interact effectively and appropriately with public and employees. Maintain a valid Montana Commercial Drivers License (CDL), or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of employment. Occupational certification for heavy equipment operation and other endorsements as mandated by law and / or policy. Occupational certification as a forklift / loader operator, flagger and motor grader operator as awarded by the Montana Local Technical Assistance Program. Ability to use hand-tools.
Duties include : Operate heavy equipment. Plow snow and sand icy roads. Blade roads. Haul gravel, scoria, tar pot and other materials and equipment to jobsites. Change water channels. Install culverts, car gates and cattle guards. Operate rollers to prepare road beds. Install and maintain bridge markers and street signs. Build concrete retaining walls. Fill washouts. Mow road shoulders. Make minor repairs to equipment.
Full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week in Richey. $20.96 per hour.
