Superintendent
Join a dynamic team supporting the Everglades Restoration Program as a Superintendent. You will be responsible for overseeing field operations on assigned projects to ensure timely and profitable completion. Your initial focus will be on a $390 Million pump station project, where you will manage and support the field labor force, including hands-on work and crew management.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support to the field labor force, specifically in piping and plumbing.
- Ensure the safety of all employees and subcontractors, strictly adhering to company safety policies and programs.
- Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of the field labor force.
- Inspect Contractor or Subcontract operations for compliance with contracts.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of the Owner and Architect / Engineer.
- Develop and maintain site logistics plans in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Conduct quality inspections and coordinate site testing and inspection efforts.
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material.
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through actions and mentoring others.
- Prepare detailed short-term schedules and ensure all activities are completed on or ahead of schedule.
- Prepare and submit Superintendent Daily Reports.
- Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings.
Essential Skills
5+ years experience as a Superintendent on Pump Station, Water Treatment, Waste Water Treatment, or similar heavy mechanical projects.Experience with steel pipe and large diameter PVC pipe.Broad understanding of industry.Familiarity with requirements of drawings, specifications, and terms and conditions of Project Contracts.Good math and accounting skills.Familiarity with grading, drainage, paving, bridge construction, retaining walls, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical aspects of pump station construction.Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Leadership and management skills, with the ability to delegate effectively.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.Functions effectively as part of a team.Estimating skills are a plus.Junior College or Vocational education desired.OSHA, First Aid / CPR certifications.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Procore, eCMS, RMS, Prolog, and Autodesk software.Experience with SFWMD is a plus.Work Environment
The Superintendent will report to the General Superintendent and Project Manager(s) on assigned projects. This is an exempt position with typical working hours from 7am to 4 : 30pm, subject to change based on schedule and weather conditions. Occasional weekend work (Saturday) is expected. The role requires wearing a hard hat, steel toe boots, work pants, company shirt, safety vest, gloves, and safety glasses.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.47 - $48.04 / hr.
