Responsibilities Ambulatory surgery center operating room setting Patient cases include Ortho (total joints, arthroscopy), ophthalmology, ENT, GYN, GU, endocrine, surgical oncology, plastics, robotics, and GI (upper and lower scopes) No general surgery, L&D, or pediatrics performed in this unit Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts, 6 : 30am - 5 : 00pm, with scheduled late days a few times per month Scheduled day off determined by department needs; special requests considered as possible Floating within the perioperative facility may be required No on-call requirements Unit includes 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, 1 VIR procedural room, and 20 pre / post-op patient bays Team includes 10 RNs and 1 PCT Uses Epic EMR Pre- and post-op RN duties include prepping patients, medication reconciliation, obtaining vitals, starting IVs, administering meds, monitoring post-anesthesia patients, and discharging patients Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and other OR staff in a fast-paced environment Completion of facility modules is required prior to start (average 4 hours) Must include all requested time off (RTO) at time of application; multiple RTO requests within a contract will be denied Local candidates considered if residing within 60 miles Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November) Block scheduling requests may be considered at manager discretion First time travelers are not accepted for this role Scrub / dress code details will be provided during onboarding Requirements Active SC or compact RN license BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of OR RN experience Demonstrated competency in multiple OR specialties listed in job details Radiation badge required Ability to provide SSN and driver's license for consideration Experience using Epic EMR preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626742.
