Nuclear Mechanical Design Engineer

A company is looking for a Fuel Handling Mechanical Design Engineer for a remote, contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Design nuclear fuel handling equipment and components from requirements through final design and commissioning

Provide support for design processes, including calculations, drawings, and technical reports

Interface with design teams and oversee technical areas within projects, ensuring compliance with design codes and standards

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university, or equivalent experience

6-15 years of direct experience with proven mechanical equipment design skills

Experience in the design of complex mechanical structures and equipment, preferably with nuclear fuel handling equipment

Familiarity with ASME BPVC, Section III, Division 1 and / or Section VIII

Experience with remote tooling design and / or hot cell design / operations
