Prime Air Drone Delivery Engineer

Prime Air is seeking an experienced engineer to oversee Prime Air Drone delivery operations by meeting regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) also known as Drone. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of drone delivery operations by meeting Part-135 and other regulatory FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) requirements to ensure successful in-service or fleet operations. Key job responsibilities include :

• Working with Engineering teams (hardware & software), flight testing, fulfillment center delivery operations, Program Managers, and supply chain teams to execute in-service quality goals.
• Working closely with Flight Standards & Publications team collaborating on review and approval of Flight operations Manuals and checklists.
• Ensuring compliance to drone delivery & maintenance operations by overseeing the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) program in accordance with 14 CFR Part 135.
• Ensuring continuous monitoring and analysis of operational data for safety, quality, compliance, to report metrics in dashboard formats.
• Leveraging expertise in statistical analysis to drive root cause investigation using tools like 8D, RCA, CAPA, COE, etc to resolve quality & compliance issues.
• On a daily basis, reporting commercial operations quality, compliance, and technical publication activity stemming from in service fleet operations especially issues impacting delivery performance and efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards across all operational sites.
• Conducting compliance, safety, and quality audits to ensure compliance with FAA regulations (e.g., Part 107, 135, etc).
• Interface and support FAA audits and inspectors.
• Conducting audits, reporting findings, and closing audit gaps / findings in a timely fashion by working with cross-functional teams.
• Reporting In-Service Quality team's progress in WBR, MBR, QBR forums.

A day in this role will look like working closely with delivery operations and engineering team reporting, and resolving quality & compliance issues. This role also involves conducting operations audits and reporting findings if any during audits. This role requires on-call shifts and rotations supporting extending hours of delivery operations.

About the team In-Service Quality (ISQ) team supports Drone delivery operations supporting Amazon's customer deliveries within 60 minutes. ISQ team helps ensure all the regulatory and compliance requirements from FAA, DOT, and other bodies are met in the context of aviation industry. This team also involves resolving engineering quality issues by working with cross-functional teams.

The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
