Job description

Multnomah Athletic Club is more than Portland’s most legendary hub of sports and socializing. It’s like a small city unto itself. Where else can you find four restaurants, three pools, a climbing gym, state-of-the-art studios and fitness suite, a complex of racquet sport courts, massage offerings, a boutique, plus a grand ballroom and variety of events spaces all in one place? To say that every employee of MAC has room to move is an understatement almost as big as MAC’s 600,000 square feet of recreational possibilities.

Want a career with a future? A campus worth exploring? A one‑of‑a‑kind community on which you can have a direct impact? MAC is all of those things and more.

The Role

The Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking a Graphic Designer that will play a key role in executing the visual identity of MAC through creative, high‑quality, consistent design across digital, print, and environmental applications. As a member of the Communications team, this role collaborates with the digital team, writers, photographers, videographers, and other stakeholders to produce engaging materials that reflect MAC’s brand standards and enhance the member experience. From digital campaigns and magazines to event materials and in‑club signage, the Graphic Designer ensures every piece of visual communication is consistent, polished, and purposeful.

What You’ll Do

Design & Production

  • Design creative materials across all channels, including email campaigns, social media, web graphics, The Winged M magazine, event promotions, and in‑club signage
  • Translate brand identity and campaign concepts into cohesive visual assets
  • Prepare digital and print files for production, ensuring color accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications
  • Create Adobe Express templates, ensuring consistent cross‑departmental support
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing creativity with deadlines

Brand Stewardship

  • Uphold MAC’s brand standards across all design work
  • Partner with the Content Editor and Senior Copywriter to ensure alignment of visual and written storytelling
  • Contribute to the development of new design systems, guides, and campaign frameworks

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work closely with stakeholders across departments to translate project goals into effective visual solutions
  • Participate in weekly content and creative meetings to align on priorities, provide updates, and share ideas
  • Provide creative input and design expertise to elevate the overall communications strategy
  • Support photography selection, illustration, and layout planning as needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional design experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience designing for both digital and print channels
  • Understanding of digital marketing design, including newsletter, web, email, and social media graphics
  • Basic knowledge of photography, illustration, or motion design
  • Familiarity with Adobe Express or Canva

What You’ll Gain

  • Full‑time employees: Enjoy medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Facility access: Free access to our exercise room and classes, climbing gym, and pools.
  • Convenience: Free parking and discounted public transportation passes.
  • Retirement: Participate in our 401(k) program with an employer match.
  • Well‑being: Access our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for free.
  • Perks: Enjoy discounts on club services and meals.

Apply today! The Multnomah Athletic Club is an equal opportunity at‑will employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age, race, religion, color, disability, sex, sexual orientation or national origin.
