Job Summary :

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the professional face of a leading diagnostic services organization. This role is responsible for performing phlebotomy and specimen processing with accuracy, compassion, and adherence to quality and safety standards. The PSR II supports both routine and high-volume testing environments, ensuring positive patient experiences and compliance with all established laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection duties accurately and efficiently.

Maintain a safe, professional, and organized work environment.

Verify patient identification and labeling to ensure specimen accuracy.

Complete and maintain all required records and documentation .

Provide excellent customer service while communicating clearly with patients, peers, and supervisors.

Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Be flexible with scheduling needs, including weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage .

Travel as needed to cover multiple locations and provide patient service support.

Required Experience :

1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).

2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.

Customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or other service environments highly preferred.

Proficiency in keyboard / data entry required.

Nice-to-Have Experience :

Prior experience in hospital or clinical laboratory settings.

Familiarity with high-volume specimen processing .

Exposure to quality improvement or process excellence initiatives.

Required Skills :

Excellent phlebotomy and specimen handling skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills :

Medical assistant or paramedic training background.

Phlebotomy certification (preferred; not required in Minnesota).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills :

Superior customer focus and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment .

Commitment to confidentiality and process excellence.

Shift / Hours :

10 : 00 a.m. – 6 : 30 p.m. CST
