Encapsys ( www.encapsys.com ), now a part of Milliken & Company ( www.milliken.com ) is looking to hire student intern and co-ops for the 202 6 calendar year to join our team in Appleton, WI. This is a competitively paid position being offered to students in a Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Material Science / Engineering, or Chemistry program . Students are also offered a special benefits package which includes a housing allowance and paid time off .

Students will work on both collaborative and independent projects in conjunction with the engineer / scientist project leaders. Each student is assigned a mentor to provide guidance through the processes of training, developing, and contributing .

Research and development plays a vital role in our position as a leader in the encapsulation market. Ongoing investment in R&D will continue to enable us to develop core competencies in encapsulation processes and applications and grow our business with new and existing customers.

Typical job duties for a Data Analyst Co-op include :

Support R&D teams by collecting, cleaning, and analyzing experimental and operational data to drive innovation and product development.

Assist in the development and automation of structured and unstructured data pipelines and workflows using tools such as Python, SQL, Excel, BI, NLP libraries, or ML frameworks, and API integration.

Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Collaborate with scientists, engineers and product managers to identify data needs and design data workflows that ensure accuracy, integrity, and usability of laboratory data.

Apply statistical methods and predictive modeling to support experimental design, product development, and commercialization processes.

Develop and apply AI and machine learning models to identify / interpret trends, predict outcomes, and relationships in complex data sets.

Document data sources, methodologies, and findings to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing across teams.

Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions with data-driven insights.

Education, experience and qualifications :

Educational background includes individuals earning their B.S. or M.S. with at least a 3.00 GPA in any of the following programs, rising Juniors and Seniors preferred :

Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics

Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Computational Sciences

Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science with strong data / AI coursework
