Position Summary : The Attendance Clerk is an entry level role, responsible for comprehensive work in maintaining accurate student attendance records. The Attendance Clerk will work directly with the Student Success Coaches to assist with student / guardian issues getting logged in and / or submitting and approving attendance. Although this is an entry level role, this position requires having a strong customer service skills to assist with effective and efficient communication with existing students / parents, and other teams within the organization.
Key Functions and Responsibilities :
- Maintain compliance with all applicable school, district, state, and federal policies associated with student records and dissemination of student information, including but not limited to FERPA
- Follow up with parents / guardians about pending attendance approvals and provide individualized log in assistance as needed
- Coordinate effective communication with students and parents / guardians on any attendance updates utilizing phone calls, text messaging and emails
- Address attendance concerns relayed by students, parents / guardians through phone calls, text messaging, and emails
- Assist in re-setting passwords when needed for parents / guardians and students
- Re-setting attendance when incorrectly submitted / approved to ensure accurate minutes are accounted for
- Track attendance deficient students to assist in correctly approving minutes via the attendance app associated with individual students
- Work alongside student success partners, as needed, to provide excellent customer service for all students needing assistance or who are attendance delinquent (Truant or Non Start)
- Work with Adult Students and Parents / Guardians explaining the importance of correct attendance submission and checking progress in the portal frequently as to stay on track and progress academically
