Position Overview :
The Investigator will respond to emergent security requests and incidents across the Duke Energy Florida region. This field-based role requires coordination with contract security officers, local police, and first responders to address ongoing security issues, reporting updates to the CSI Manager and the Enterprise Security Command Center (ESCC). The Investigator will collaborate with the Enterprise Investigative Team and partner with senior investigators to support Enterprise Protective Services (EPS) functions, including Investigation, Liaison, Intelligence Collection, and Physical Security Operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct inquiries and investigations, including field interviewing and report writing.
- Review video and badge data; conduct basic background searches.
- Respond to security issues and perform related administrative duties.
- Assess sites such as homeless camps, work with law enforcement to create trespass agreements, and install temporary cameras (may require climbing ladders up to 8 feet and lifting up to 40 lbs).
- Drive a light-duty truck or SUV between sites and onsite.
- Wear PPE (eye / ear protection, hard hat, safety boots, FR clothing) as required by site conditions; PPE provided by client.
- Work is primarily in the field, with occasional office presence or remote work as needed.
Required Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of investigative experience, preferably in law enforcement (federal, state, or local detective roles). Patrol-only or security guard experience is not sufficient.Strong investigative skills and experience working with law enforcement or similar agencies.Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.Assignment Details :
Hybrid field role; no regular office days, but occasional office presence may be required
