We are seeking a skilled Welder-Fabricator to join our team and contribute to the development of our welding department. This role involves working with a variety of materials and welding processes to support our marine, industrial, and manufacturing clients. In addition to welding and fabrication, this position requires mechanical aptitude to occasionally perform mechanic-related tasks. The ideal candidate is proficient in TIG and MIG welding and has extensive experience with maritime industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining the company’s welding department, including overseeing welding equipment and processes.
- Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, steel, and copper-nickel materials.
- Pass 3G, 4G, and 6G welder qualification tests to demonstrate proficiency.
- Apply industry-standard practices to marine, industrial, and manufacturing projects.
- Act as a mechanic when required to support company operations.
- Travel to client sites as needed (up to 25%–50% per year).
- Work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends, with overtime pay as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 3–5 years of welding and fabrication experience with an emphasis on maritime industry standards and practices.
- Skills: Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding processes and the ability to pass 3G, 4G, and 6G welder qualification tests.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of welding techniques and materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, steel, and copper-nickel.
- Communication: Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel (up to 50%) and work nights and weekends as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude to handle basic mechanic tasks.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain welding equipment.
- Experience in working on diverse projects for marine, industrial, and manufacturing clients.
