Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Tax Manager to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $, to $, per year.
Job Responsibilities:
Review federal, state, and local corporate, REIT, and partnership tax returns prepared by outside advisors.
Ensure the annual tax compliance process is completed accurately and within required deadlines.
Develop and implement tax strategies that minimize overall tax burden and reduce tax related costs.
Manage documentation, testing, and calculations related to REIT qualification and maintenance of REIT status.
Monitor tax credit programs and oversee administrative functions within the tax department.
Requirements:
Communicate effectively with all levels of management, auditors, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and maintain accuracy across complex tax processes.
Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
Work efficiently and independently while maintaining a strong sense of accountability.
Contribute as a reliable and collaborative team member in support of department objectives.
Qualifications:
5+ years of progressively responsible tax experience, preferably within a Big 4 public accounting firm.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a CPA designation; MS Tax is a plus.
Understand U.S. corporate income tax, partnership tax, California tax, REIT qualification, and REIT/TRS transfer pricing issues.
Develop and analyze tax planning and minimization strategies effectively.
Manage tax professionals successfully, with Yardi experience considered a plus.
