Technical Outside Sales Representative

Position Overview
We're seeking a driven and technically skilled Outside Sales Representative to grow the customer base and develop strategic and partnerships in Western PA for a PRSG client. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with proactive business development — ideal for someone who understands machining processes and enjoys helping customers improve performance, productivity, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory sales strategy to drive growth across cutting tools, saw blades, coolants, and industrial supplies.
- Identify and secure new business through prospecting, cold calling, technical presentations, and relationship development.
- Support and expand existing accounts by delivering technical solutions, consistent service, and long-term partnership value.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Customer Service and Key Account Representatives to ensure accurate orders, timely delivery, and responsive support.
- Provide hands-on technical support — assist with product applications, troubleshoot performance issues, and conduct on-site training.
- Prepare quotes, manage pricing, and maintain forecasts using CRM and ERP systems.
- Stay current on industry trends including new product lines, machining innovations, and competitor activities.
- Represent the company at industry events such as trade shows, customer visits, and vendor training sessions.
- Travel within territory (approximately 50%) with occasional overnight trips as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
ExperienceMinimum 3+ years of outside or territory sales in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or cutting tools, OR
5+ years of CNC machining experience (setup / operator / programmer) with interest in transitioning to a sales role.Technical acumen in machining, metalworking, or tooling applications strongly preferred.Demonstrated success in prospecting, account development, and achieving sales targets.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all customer levels.Self-motivated and organized, capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities.Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office suite.Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (vehicle reimbursement program provided).This Opportunity Offers
