Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Radiologic Technologists (RT) are generally responsible for preparing and safely positioning patients to get the most accurate images. Tasks for a radiology technologist may range from assisting a radiologist with advanced preparation and testing to administrative tasks, such as organizing work schedules and maintaining patient records.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general supervision, coordinates and supervises the activities of staff Radiologic Technologists, Nurses' Aides and / or clerks. Schedule patient procedure and performs imaging as per protocol. Will maintain and coordinate the availability of CT services with other services, clinics or other facilities and cations under his / her jurisdiction. Reports to the Associate Director of Radiology.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimum Qualifications
Assignment Level II
1. Valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH.
Benefits
All Radiologic Technologists in Assignment Levels II and III shall receive a differential of $7,500 per annum to be cross-trained on different modalities of radiologic imaging and to be cross-assigned (once trained) to different imaging settings depending on patient volume and staffing needs within a facility.
