Job Title : Embedded Design Engineer

Details :

Position Summary and Special Duties :

The Embedded Design Engineer is responsible for embedded circuit design and programming to ensure functionality consistent with design specifications. The role primarily includes embedded development and also includes some software development of test programs and utilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Design embedded hardware for new computer peripheral products.
  • Design and code firmware & software.
  • Lead code and design reviews.
  • Interpret product requirement documents and create new / derivative products in a fast-paced design cycle.
  • Participate in multiple concurrent design projects in support of the engineering schedule.
  • Provide technical support of existing products for manufacturing, service, sales, and customers.
  • Support continuous process improvements to reduce time-to-market and increase reliability / manufacturability.
  • Conduct firmware & software regression, integration, verification, and validation testing.
  • Manage projects and participate in customer meetings as needed.
  • Perform and support qualification testing.
  • Support other staff in areas of expertise.
  • Perform other technical projects as identified.

    • Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate Aptitude In :

  • Embedded design, breadboarding, and debugging with common lab / software tools.
  • Programming PIC microcontroller-based products.
  • Programming USB and other serial communications.
  • Creating firmware logic block diagrams and architectures.
  • Reading, writing, and debugging firmware / software in C, C#, and other languages.
  • Report writing and documentation.
