Job Title : Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician (Nights)

Location : Augusta, GA

Status of Hire : full-time, direct hire

Pay : $40-50 / hr (hourly, non-exempt) plus $2 / hr shift differential

Bonus potential : up to $2500 / year

Shift : nights 6p-6a on a 4on, 4off schedule

Industry : industrial metals processing

Department : Maintenance and Engineering

Reports to : Maintenance Manager

will provide relocation assistance if needed

Responsibilities :

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of heavy industrial manufacturing equipment and machinery

Troubleshoot and repair industrial complex metals processing systems including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation

Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, material handling, overhead and gantry crane, crushing, grinding, furnace, vacuum, pump, bag-house, silo, and casting operations as well as auxiliary equipment

Install, maintain, and repair control systems, including but not limited to PLCs (Siemens), SCADA systems, DCS. HMIs and other automation equipment

Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on general plant electrical equipment such as starters, PLCs (Siemens), start / stop stations, motors (up to 480V)

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems to ensure optimal performance reliability

Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators

Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, bearings, belts, valves, or gears, to restore functionality

Lubricate and clean mechanical parts to ensure proper functioning and prevent premature wear

Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventory

Understanding of measurement and testing devices and mechanical systems

Demonstrate good working knowledge of electrical diagrams and / or circuits and utilize during troubleshooting

Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations

Requirements :

6+ years' electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a complex processing, industrial manufacturing environment

2 Year Technical Degree in Industrial Technology, Maintenance, Mechatronics, Engineering, or related preferred (but not required)

Intermediate understanding of PLCs, ability to access program for troubleshooting purposes (light programming and edits a plus, would not be expected to fully program PLCs)

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery, including principles of operation and maintenance requirements

Proficiency in using hand and power tools to perform mechanical repairs and adjustments

Familiarity with diagnostic tools and instruments for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, electric schematics, and engineering drawings

Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts (likely 6p-6a or 7p-7a) on a 4on, 4off rotation which may include nights and weekends
