Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced, motivated and dynamic Service Manager to lead the service department supporting new boat sales and service customers. This role requires a proven leader who shares our commitment to excellence and can maintain the exceptional standards that have made our client a trusted name in the boating industry for nearly five decades. The ideal candidate will possess both technical expertise and strong leadership skills to manage our skilled technicians while ensuring every customer receives the quality service that defines our reputation.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled marine technicians and service advisors
- Provide ongoing training, and foster professional growth
- Schedule and coordinate technician workloads to maximize productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Maintain weekly flat rate logs for payroll
Service & Operations Management
Manage new boat rigging, comprehensive pre-delivery inspections encompassing boat and engine (outboard, I / O)Oversee all service department operations from routine maintenance to major repairs and repowersMaintain route sheet and service scheduleEnsure all work meets manufacturer specifications and quality standardsManage warranty claims, technical bulletins, and manufacturer relationshipsMaintain strong interdepartmental communication to ensure timely completion of projects and jobsManage marina operations and maintenance including slip rentals, pier and boat lift maintenance, etc.Manage shop & facility organization and maintenanceFull compliance of company policies and safety standardsManage and maintain AP and AR timelinesCustomer Service Excellence
Maintain exceptional customer relationships and resolve service concerns promptlyHandle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and effective solutionsProvide accurate service estimates and clearly communicate repair processesEnsure customer boats are returned in pristine condition and on scheduleMaintain CSI levels based on established metricsMaintain consistent communication with customers proactively providing updates and follow up in a timely mannerProper use and accuracy of CRMRequired Qualifications
Minimum 3 - 5 years marine service management experienceStrong background in marine outboard engine repairProven leadership experience managing technical teamsExcellent customer service and communication skillsProficiency with CRM systemsDesired Qualities
