Lab Tech Job Details Job Title : Hospital Lab Tech – EEG (Electroencephalogram Technician) Location : Oak Lawn, IL 60453 (Chicago area healthcare job) Assignment Type : Travel, On-Site Start Date : December 1, 2025 End Date : February 28, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8-hour night shifts Average Hours per Week : 40 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1950 - $2000 Weekend Rotation : Every weekend required Holiday Expectations : Work required if scheduled on a holiday Scrub Color : Caribbean Blue Free Parking : Yes EEG Lab Tech Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience as an EEG Lab Tech, Neurodiagnostic Technician, or Electroencephalogram Technician (required) BLS certification (required) EEG certification (required unless grandfathered by experience) Proficiency with Nihon Kohden EEG software (required) Neonatal EEG experience (preferred) Epic electronic charting experience (preferred) Ability to provide EEG services to neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients COVID-19 vaccination required Lab Tech Responsibilities Perform EEG testing and neurodiagnostic procedures for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in a hospital setting Float to ICU to conduct EEG tests as needed Apply electrodes, prepare patients, record and measure EEG activity, recognize patterns, and wrap heads for continuous EEG monitoring Identify and document abnormal EEG findings, including seizures, strokes, trauma, and other neurological events Maintain a 1 : 1 patient care ratio for high-quality EEG monitoring Collaborate with EEG techs, RRT / Code Team, EEG Supervisor, and public safety staff Utilize Epic and Nihon Kohden software for electronic charting and data management Complete a one-shift orientation prior to starting regular duties Why Choose Oak Lawn, IL?
