RN (Registered Nurse) - TCU / Stepdown

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Stepdown (TCU)\n\nLocation : Santa Cruz, CA\n\nStart Date : 11 / 10 / 2025\n\nDuration : 13 Weeks\n\nJob Responsibilities\n

• Provide patient care in a True Stepdown Unit (TCU) - telemetry, cardiac intervention, and tele overflow.\n
• Manage post-cath, post-TEE, post-cardioversion, ablation, AICD, and pacer patients.\n
• Administer and titrate critical drips including amiodarone, cardizem, nitro, pressors, dopamine, insulin, and heparin.\n
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors.\n
• Collaborate with charge nurse, RT, and hospitalist team to ensure safe patient outcomes.\n\nQualifications\n
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown or Progressive Care experience required (Med / Tele experience not accepted).\n
• Must be proficient in telemetry interpretation and titrating cardiac drips.\n
• Excellent clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity patients.\n
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.\n\nCertificates & Licensure\n
• BLS - Required\n
• ACLS - Required\n
• NIHSS - Required\n
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) - Required for Charge RN role\n
• Active CA RN License
