Storm Duty Requirements
Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response / recovery activities related to emergencies / disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.
Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment.
Supervisor Field Construction
The Supvr Field Construction is responsible for assisting in preparation of field installation contract packages, safe direction of contractor's work using a ZERO accident philosophy, monitoring daily work activities to ensure contractors and subcontractors are supporting the overall project schedule. Review the project design to identify any potential changes and work with contract staff to review and approve any contract change notices. Ensure the quality of all work performed while identifying critical construction items that may have potential of impacting the work schedule. Monitor the project for work rule and CSMP compliance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision
Direct : Direct supervision of assigned team members
Indirect : Contractor management planning staff.
Relationships
Key Internal : Interfaces with Contracting Partner, Engineers, Planning Groups, and Managers. Communicates daily with Contractor Supervisors, Construction Supervisors, and with the Construction Manager
Key External : Frequent contact with Senior Management of contractor firms regarding development of estimates and manpower planning. Frequent contact with Warehouse and TECO Buyers.
Qualifications
Education
Required : High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred : Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or related degree.
Experience
Required : 4 years of operations experience in progressively more complex assignments, with at least 2 years underground and overhead distribution construction or design experience. College degree may be considered in lieu of some equivalent experience.
Preferred : Proven leadership on projects, and other various assignments, of complexity and diversity.
