Secure Network Engineer – MACsec / IEEE 802.1AE

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced MACsec Consultant to design, implement, and support secure network solutions using MACsec and related standards in enterprise and carrier environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Deploy and manage MACsec (IEEE 802.1AE) for secure Ethernet links.

Configure and troubleshoot IEEE 802.1X / 802.1X-2010 (MKA) for network access control and key management.

Integrate hardware encryption on enterprise / carrier switches (Microsemi, Cisco, Juniper, etc.).

Analyze MACsec operations using packet capture, CLI, SNMP, and syslog.

Provide guidance on switch firmware, SDK, and software stack for MACsec deployment.

Document solutions, best practices, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills :

Strong knowledge of IEEE 802.1AE, 802.1X, 802.1X-2010 (MKA).

Experience with hardware-based encryption on network switches.

Proficiency with SNMP, CLI, syslog, and packet analysis tools.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for L2 / L3 environments.

Good documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Skills :

Experience with Microsemi Carrier Ethernet switches.

Network security certifications (CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC, MACsec Specialist).

Exposure to automation tools (Ansible, Python).

Knowledge of IPsec, TLS, DTLS.
