Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active, unencumbered RN license (Registered Nurse)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, or acute care nursing jobs

BLS certification required

ACLS certification preferred

Ability to work 12-hour night shifts

Strong communication and critical thinking skills

Must reside at least 60 miles from Hickory, NC to qualify for travel nurse assignment

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients

Monitor and assess cardiac patients, responding to changes in condition

Administer medications, treatments, and clinical interventions as prescribed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans

Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, procedures, and post-discharge care

Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record

Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development for nurses
