VP / Director of Finance

Finance Leader Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Finance Leader to oversee financial operations and provide strategic leadership across budgeting, accounting, purchasing, grants, and audit compliance. This role reports directly to the CFO and is a key member of the executive leadership team. Key responsibilities include : direct daily financial and business office operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective internal controls; overseeing accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and grant management functions; preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses to support executive decision-making; leading the development of fiscal policies, systems, and procedures to ensure efficiency and risk mitigation; supervising and mentoring a team of finance professionals across accounting, student accounts, and procurement; and partnering with senior leadership to support strategic planning and long-term financial sustainability.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field required; master's degree and / or CPA preferred; 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, ideally within higher education or public sector environments; strong understanding of fund accounting, audit compliance, budgeting, and procurement practices; excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach; proficiency with enterprise financial systems and Microsoft Office tools; and experience with business intelligence or ERP systems is a plus.
