Family Time Coach! (Full-Time, Benefits Eligible)

Penquis has been dedicated to strengthening families in Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years. We are seeking a compassionate Family Time Coach to join our team.

This is a hybrid role based in our Bangor office, involving travel across Penobscot and Piscataquis counties (40 hours per week, full benefits eligible).

What You’ll Do : As the Coach, you will facilitate supervised family visits in home and community settings, employing a coaching model to foster positive interactions. You will partner with parents to offer supportive guidance, helping them refine and strengthen their parenting techniques. Additionally, you will work closely with children and their parents / guardians to identify and overcome communication barriers, ultimately supporting the goals of each family’s Visitation Plan.

Location : Bangor, Maine

Family Time Coach Responsibilities :

Provide home and community-based visit coaching to assist families.

Implement specialized training in a national coaching model and receive supervision from a licensed clinician.

Work effectively as part of a team, interacting and sustaining positive collaborations and partnerships with families, DHHS, and resource parents.

Provide intensive, home and community-based therapeutic skill-building to parents, with a focus on empowerment, empathy, responsiveness, and active parenting while maintaining child safety.

Family Time Coach Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.

1-2 years of documented experience working with children and families.

Have reliable, insured transportation and have proof of automobile insurance.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $21.47 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
