Civil Design Engineer - Water Resources

Staff Civil Engineer – Full-time, direct hire

We are seeking a Staff Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Chantilly, VA. This role offers a chance to work on a diverse range of public & private site development projects, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful work!

In this role, you'll handle a diverse array of responsibilities (tailored to your skill set). These design / planning tasks may include (but are not limited to) Hydrologic and Hydraulic [H&H] modeling, Stormwater Management [SWM], drainage, erosion control, plan & code reviews, feasibility studies, permitting, and report preparation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Contribute to multi-discipline projects with a variety of clients.
• Assist with preparation of site development drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D while transforming land survey data into comprehensive site plans (that adhere to municipal regulations).
• Design of site layout, removals, grading, utilities, etc.
• Design SWM plans : H&H modeling, Erosion and Sediment Control [E&S C], relevant design calculations, etc.
• Process land development applications through regulatory approval.
• Engage with clients & regulatory agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Assist with mentoring junior-level staff.
• Assist with field inspections, as needed.
• Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
