Material Control and Logistics Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Material Control and Logistics will be responsible for the oversight of all material flow, planning, and execution- both internally and externally.
The leader will act as the liaison between Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Technology, and Sales and Operating Planning teams to achieve operational plans that maximize resources while maintaining inventory targets.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures of Inventory Management (internal and external controls).
- Lead the manufacturing production schedule, with corporate planning, and develop optimal operational plans that incorporate manufacturing constraints.
- Accountable for the enforcement and management of commercial relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient flow of parts into the operation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing leadership and cross functional teams to optimize total cost and to maintain inventory targets that support our ability to deliver the promise to our customers.
- Mentor, lead, and develop the plant's materials organization.
- Report to material and manufacturing leadership on production status and identify countermeasures.
- Analyze data, process flows, and supply chain functions to maximize resources.
- Assign ownership and accountability for process issues and corrections.
- Develop and challenge resources to improve performance through optimized systems, continuous process improvements, and ultimately drive direct and indirect material savings.
- Prepare and maintain annual materials operating budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related or technical field required.
- 5+ years of supply chain experience required.
- 2+ years in a leadership role required.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel. Skilled in ERP Software.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to find solutions and deal proactively with work-related problems.
- Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to create concepts, practices, and tools to resolve problems or improve current processes.
- Management of the Approved Vendor List including Vendor Profile, Vendor Approval and ISO / TS / PPAP assessment procedures.
- Ability to monitor Supplier Performance Measurement in terms of quality and service of the cost via reporting structures.
- Ability to provide monthly tracking of performance and monthly commodity / activity and savings.
Travel
Minimal travel is required.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manager+ : this position has direct reports and assigns, trains, schedules, oversees, or reviews the work of others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to sedentary work; Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Physical Activities
This position is subject to the following physical activities : talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Visual Acuity
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures;
- transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and / or operation of machines (including inspection);
using measurement devices; and / or assembly of fabrication of pats at distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions : Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
The worker is also subject to noise : There is sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
