Tidewater Physicians for Women is a division of Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care with offices in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia. Schedule :

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing professional medical care for patients under the physician's supervision or nurse practitioner. The MA will assist providers and staff in coordinating patient care and functions as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers. The ability to maintain confidentiality concerning patients, co-workers, and all job assignments is imperative.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

The job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to job position.

EDUCATION :

High school diploma, some college preferred. Course in medical assisting with medical assistant certification.

EXPERIENCE :

Minimum of two years experience as a medical assistant, preferably ob / gyn related.

REQUIREMENTS :

Maintains CPR certification.

ABILITIES :

ENVIRONMENTAL / WORKING CONDITIONS : Work is performed in a combination of medical office and exam procedure room settings. Minimal exposure to communicable diseases. Fast-paced and stressful work environment at times.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS : Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies.

Salary : From $16.00 per hour based upon OB / GYN experience.
