As an Individualized Support Behavior Specialist , you will work one-on-one with students, implementing tailored intervention strategies to enhance their academic and social-emotional success. Your role is crucial in nurturing a positive learning environment and responding to challenges with compassion and creativity.

Key Responsibilities Include :

  • Implementing individualized behavior interventions to support academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Encouraging positive student behavior and skillfully managing negative behaviors through effective strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student behaviors and intervention plans.
  • Collecting and analyzing behavioral data to monitor student progress.
  • Providing classroom staff with guidance on monitoring and managing individual behaviors.
  • Applying behavior analysis principles to improve outcomes under the direction of certified professionals.
  • Conducting behavioral observations to aid in the development of intervention plans.
  • Assisting in classroom activities and maintaining an organized learning environment.
  • Responding to crisis situations with de-escalation techniques to ensure safety and minimize disruption.
  • Documenting behavioral incidents in a thorough and confidential manner.
  • Participating in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Supporting students during school-related activities, such as field trips and lunch supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned to enhance program effectiveness.

Qualifications Required :

  • Associate's degree or higher in behavioral sciences or a related field.
  • Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining relevant credentials (e.g., RBT, paraprofessional).
  • Experience working with children in educational or behavioral health settings.
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office and database entry.
